We arrive in Menorca and fell in love with the island. Soon we found an old house in the historic center of Ciutadella. We reformed it and turned it into La Cayena.
In 2004, we opened the doors of La Cayena, cocina viajera. For years it was a restaurant where we served the dishes that we liked the most from our trips around the world.
In 2016, we transformed it again and built the rooms and studios, inspired by the travelling experiences but keeping the esence of our old menorcan house. Finally, in 2021, we closed the restaurant and focused on the accommodation, an authentic place where you can relax and get to know Menorca.

We are available to you via WhatsApp 24/7, so you can get to know the island at your own pace and if you want, with our advise, take advantage of our experience.
We would love to be part of the memory that you take with you from Menorca.
La Cayena
The house has four different rooms, each one unique. Now you have to figure out which one is the one for you…It’s hard to decide, I warn you. They’re all named after spices, like La Cayena, our favorite spices for cooking…
El Cardamomo and El Cilantro , are our spacious double rooms overlooking the narrow streets of Ciutadella’s Old Town.
La Pimienta Rosa and La Cúrcuma, are our super studios with a kitchenette, more spacious and with the possibility to prepare simple meals.
We’ve preserved the traditional Menorcan architecture, maintaining all its charm: wide whitewashed walls, high ceilings, wooden doors and exposed beams. All the rooms are spacious and bright, and each corner is decorated with the care you would give to a corner of your own home.
Each room has a unique personality and color scheme, thanks to the artist Noe Fontanini. She painted the doors and walls of each room. Furthermore we added objects and textiles we had found on our travels: bamboo lamps, Moroccan tables, and Indian quilts. The result is a bohemian and traveling atmosphere.
